This is part 3 of the series on the Open Letter to the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. It refers to the pages 17-25 in the PDF document.
In Part 2 we looked at the PUBLIC position on vaccination, which is NEUTRAL.
Today we look at the PRIVATE viewpoint: the CONSCIENCE decision of the individual.
And we're not doing this to convince you of anything, but so that you better understand how some of your brothers and sisters think and feel. And this understanding promotes
- respect,
- love
- and unity.
What Is Conscience?
The conscience is innate, it is a natural part of us that our Creator has given us.
The conscience is trained, for example, by God's Word – but above all by God Himself, because it is a live connection to the Creator, like a kind of spiritual umbilical cord through which information flows back and forth through the Holy Spirit.
The Apostle Paul put it like this:
„My conscience bears witness with me in holy spirit“.
(Romans 9:1)
And this works all the better the more we
- pay attention to it,
- ask for it in prayer
- and then follow the voice of our conscience.
Everyone has their own individual conscience, their own dedicated line to above. Because our Father and Jesus love diversity, they love each and every one of us.
What are the 5 most common reasons why Christians do not get vaccinated?
1. The Cigarette argument
Do you smoke? Why not?
Because a cigarette contaminates the body with harmful substances. And the Holy Scriptures admonish us:
„Therefore, since we have these promises, beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.“
(2 Corinthians 7:1)
From any contamination! Can this principle also be applied to vaccinations? Of course.
Vaccines contain much more toxic substances than cigarettes, for example mercury and aluminium, to boost the immune system; and there are some studies linking diseases to vaccinations. Many friends simply don't get vaccinated because they don't want to contaminate their bodies.
What about compulsory vaccination?
What if the president of your country ordered you to smoke a cigarette every 6 months? Would you do that? Probably not, because ‘we should give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God’ (according to Matthew 22:21). These brothers and sisters are just as firm about vaccination, which they believe defiles the body. They want to keep it pure, even if the government authorities demand vaccination.
2. The Sacrifice Argument
In 1 Corinthians 10:20 it says:
„No; but I say that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons."
(1 Corinthians 10:20)
What does this text have to do with vaccination?
Well, many brothers and sisters have discovered parallels to Revelation 13 during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it says:
„[The wild beast] puts under compulsion all people—the small and the great, the rich and the poor, the free and the slaves—that these should be marked on their right hand or on their forehead,
and that nobody can buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.“
(Revelation 13:16, 17)
Many were denied access to banks, shops, restaurants and hospitals because they had not taken the vaccine. Digital monitoring of vaccination status is planned.
These brothers and sisters do not necessarily believe that vaccination IS this mark, but they sensed in the pandemic the personality of the ‘wild beast’, this suffocating, coercive force that wants to subjugate everything and stands in opposition to the self-determination and true freedom of God's children.
Submitting to the vaccination pressure would give these brothers and sisters the feeling that they were submitting to the chief of the demons, even ‘sacrificing’ to him.
3. The Pharmakeia Argument
In the Bible, one of the works of the flesh is ‘spiritism’ (Galatians 5:19-21).
The Greek word for spiritualism is ‘pharmakeia’ (φαρμακία). Today's word ‘pharmacy’ is derived from this word, as are the words for ‘drugs’ or ‘medicine’ in other languages.
In ancient times, witches used drugs to change people's minds and bodies, to control them and to facilitate their connection to the demon world.
Some brothers therefore interpret that taking a vaccine like the COVID vaccine would cause them to fall into the sin of ‘pharmakeia’.
Just so you understand...if these brothers were to get vaccinated, they would feel the same way you would if you were to do any other ‘work of the flesh’. The conscience of these brethren would not bear to be vaccinated because they would feel they were committing idolatry and associating with Satan.
4. The DNA Argument
We know the wonderful Psalm 139:
„My bones were not hidden from you
When I was made in secret,
When I was woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes even saw me as an embryo;
All its parts were written in your book
Regarding the days when they were formed,
Before any of them existed.“
(Psalm 139:15-16)
Before the body parts are formed, they are already written down ... ‘in your book’, the DNA. DNA is the book of God.
Let me ask you a question:
Would you dare to change the Bible?
Of course not, you would respect the sincere words of Revelation 22:18-19.
Would you dare to change the other book of God, the DNA?
This is how some friends think about mRNA vaccinations, which introduce new genetic material into the original DNA. By the way, all vaccinations will be switched to mRNA in future.
These Christians see it as a clear sin and an intrusion into the sphere of God, very similar to the mixing of human genetic material with that of fallen angels before the Flood, from which the Nephilim emerged.
They also remember that ‘the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.’ (1 Corinthians 3:19)
Current medical knowledge, no matter how advanced, is ‘foolishness’ compared to the divine wisdom inscribed in our cells and immune system. For these brothers to allow a doctor to write instructions into their cells is utter madness.
5. The Abortion Argument
This argument is a tough one. We didn't want to believe it at first either, but ... body tissue from freshly aborted embryos is used for the development and production of vaccines, and it is used continuously. (You can find links to the facts in the video description.) This is an absolute knock-out criterion for many Christians.

We know what God thinks about the killing of unborn children:
„If men should struggle with each other and they hurt a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but no fatality results, the offender must pay the damages imposed on him by the husband of the woman; and he must pay it through the judges.
But if a fatality does occur, then you must give life for life.“
(Exodus 21:22, 23)
An unborn child is a fully-fledged human being for God! The mere idea of putting parts of murdered people into our bodies simply disgusts many Christians. They do not want to be involved by taking this ‘medicine’.
For some, their conscience even signals that they would be ‘participating in a demonic sacrifice’ if they were to be vaccinated (1 Corinthians 10:18-20).
Conclusions
- Get to know the motives of your brothers and sisters.
- Learn to understand the conscience of your brothers.
- Become ‘as Jew to the Jew, a weak to the weak’.
Even if you don't agree with them: Respect their conscience. God does so, too.
Of course, there are also reasons of conscience why someone decides in favour of vaccination, e.g. love of one's neighbour. However, these have often been emphasised in the media, and also in the Updates of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.
